SPMP8000 PSPKOX Wiki was originally intended to be about PSP clone PMP players, but since there was so many generic PSP clones in the market, it was changed to be about all SPMP8000-based devices, such as the JXD1000, the Letcool N350JP and the many other PSP clones. Almost all SPMP8000-based devices use the same operating system, which is claimed to be eCos with microwindows.
PSPKOX (an abbreviation of PSP (SONY PSP) Knock-off X) is a gaming device developed by China-based company Suncom Digital based on the Sunplus SPMP8000 CPU and its variants. The JXD version of this device, the JXD1000 (JXDPSP), also has similar attributes. This wiki is intended to provide a place for PSPKOX users with resources regarding PSPKOX, such as firmware downloads, tools and utilities, software and games.
A new SPMP8000-based device called the Letcool N350JP is getting much attention from various game device forums, such as GP32X and Dingoonity. The Letcool N350JP has a new function that gives it a very strong selling point, which is 2-player mode. The Letcool N350JP has enough potential to attract homebrew developers to improve the weak software side of many SPMP8000 devices.
This wiki is also intended to be a platform for homebrew developers who are interested in programming for SPMP8000-based devices, which have a not very young but still lacking homebrew scene.
